GP-led care for the whole family  |  Longer appointments  |  Support beyond the six-week check

Postnatal care shouldn't stop when you leave hospital. The weeks and months after birth bring huge changes for both parents and babies.

You might be wondering:

Is my recovery taking longer than it should?
Why am I still exhausted?
Why don't I feel like myself?
Is my C-section or perineal recovery progressing as it should?
Why am I feeling anxious or overwhelmed?
When can I start exercising again?
I had a difficult birth could that still be affecting me?
Is what I'm experiencing normal?

You don't need to wait until something is seriously wrong to ask. Newborn Family provides dedicated postnatal healthcare appointments with experienced GPs who understand this important stage of life. Our dedicated GPs give you the time, expertise and continuity your family deserves.

You had a baby. Now it's time to check in on you.

Mother's Postnatal Check £295

Up to 60 minutes with an experienced GP, focused entirely on you and your recovery after birth.

You'll have time to talk through the things that are often difficult to fit into a routine postnatal appointment, with an experienced GP who understands both the medicine and the reality of becoming a parent.

We'll take time to understand how you're doing physically and emotionally, assess any concerns and give you a personalised plan for what you need next.

Your appointment can cover:

  • Physical recovery and symptoms

  • C-section or perineal healing

  • Pelvic floor

  • Sleep and exhaustion

  • Feeding

  • Mental health and emotional wellbeing

  • Your birth experience

  • Contraception and returning to sex

  • Returning to exercise

  • Returning to work

  • Any other concerns you want to discuss

Where appropriate, we can provide treatment, arrange further investigations or recommend a referral.

You don't need to have a specific problem to book. Sometimes you simply need the time to talk to a doctor about how you're doing.

But I've already had my six-week check. Do I need this?

Not necessarily, our appointment isn't designed to replace your NHS care. Your NHS postnatal checks are important.

Our private assessment offers something different: more time, a comprehensive review and examination and the opportunity to discuss the things that may not have been covered in a routine appointment.

You can come to us because something is worrying you, because your recovery hasn't gone as expected, or simply because you want reassurance that you're doing okay.

There is no need to wait until your six-week check and you don't have to have something “wrong” to benefit from a longer appointment.

Why choose a private
GP-led postnatal check?

You're seeing an experienced GP who can assess your symptoms, provide medical advice and help you decide what needs to happen next.

We combine medical expertise with the time and continuity that new parents often struggle to access.

Newborn Family was founded by Dr Moona Aslam and Dr Sadif Rafiq, two GPs and mums who experienced first-hand how much can be missed during the transition into parenthood.

Evidence-based. Doctor-led. Personalised to you.

“I felt so listened to”

The clinic was really easy to find and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. My baby and breastfeeding were completely welcomed too, which made the whole experience feel so relaxed. I don't think I've ever felt so listened to by a doctor before.
